Our new school is finally open!
Welcome to the information centre for SWO's EcoSchool Commitee!
On this site you will find information for students (fun links and activities to try), teachers (curriculum connections - how to bring an environmental awareness theme into your classroom), parents and the school community in general (projects underway, success stories, etc.).
The purpose of this committee is not only to reduce our ecological footprint as a school, but to teach our children to become responsible stewards of their environment.

Ecological Literacy
Ecological inquiry reveals our dependence on the healthy functioning of the Earth's living systems which give us clean air, water, soil, food and all the other resources we depend on.
Ecological literacy allows us to understand the urgency of developing protective, sustainable, and restorative relationships with the natural systems that are affected by our daily activities.
